Huge Wreck on US 131, Lake Effect Snow, Grand Haven Lighthouse Waves

12/18/15 – This was a day for lake effect snow. The models had been showing it, so I set out with my friend Cort Scholten to document the event. We expected it to be a good day for weather. We met up at a carpool lot and then took his car down to the Lake Michigan shoreline. The snow was struggling to get going strong, so we decided to head down to Grand Haven and enjoy some of the wave action along the lighthouse pier. Below is a video and a collection of images from our time at Grand Haven, MI. This is one of Michigan’s best lighthouses, so photogenic! A must see if you’re visiting Michigan. We also found some cool frozen sand formations along the beach called “Hoodoos”. They’re pretty cool! The waves were pretty turbulent also. Rainy Day On The Trails

10/12/14 – It was a rainy day to be out on the trails, but I didn’t let that stop me from heading out and enjoying the day. Temperatures were warm enough to where the rain really didn’t bother me. I snapped an assortment of images along the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail, and also a couple of images that showed the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail. One of which showing the old railroad bridge. I also found a couple of blankets along the trail, which I thought was intriguing. I have no idea what they were there for, … Read More…

An Afternoon at Fred Meijer Flat River Trail

GREENVILLE, MI – After a long winter, springtime weather was a welcomed sight for many. We’d already had a handful of nice days so far in 2014, and April 6, 2014 was no exception. With temperatures around 60 degrees, it was a beautiful day to get out and enjoy all that nature had to offer. I set out to the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail to talk to some folks about the warm weather, and how they were enjoying their day. Also to document some spring nature sights and sounds along the way. This was my first time ever on the trail, and I can already tell I’ll be spending a lot more time here this year. Fishing, cycling, walking, and just being out in nature. My adventure began at Jackson’s Landing Park next to the Flat River. I was on assignment for Live Storms Media, gathering footage and interviews for the networks. It wasn’t an easy task by any means, as many folks elected not to be on camera, … Read More…
