GREENVILLE, MI – After a long winter, springtime weather was a welcomed sight for many. We’d already had a handful of nice days so far in 2014, and April 6, 2014 was no exception. With temperatures around 60 degrees, it was a beautiful day to get out and enjoy all that nature had to offer. I set out to the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail to talk to some folks about the warm weather, and how they were enjoying their day. Also to document some spring nature sights and sounds along the way. This was my first time ever on the trail, and I can already tell I’ll be spending a lot more time here this year. Fishing, cycling, walking, and just being out in nature.
My adventure began at Jackson’s Landing Park next to the Flat River. I was on assignment for Live Storms Media, gathering footage and interviews for the networks. It wasn’t an easy task by any means, as many folks elected not to be on camera, or give interviews. Which is perfectly okay! I don’t think I’d want to be interviewed either to be honest, as I do much better behind the camera, than in front of it. I had a great time talking with people though off camera. Most all of which were very happy. I did catch up with a couple of folks who happily shared their opinions about the weather on camera. Those interviews can be seen in the video below along with various clips of people and animals enjoying the great outdoors!
In between talking with folks, I was able to really take in the peace and serenity of nature while on the trail, and also see some pretty neat things in my 3 mile or so journey. The river was running higher than usual, due to snow melt. So the water was rushing pretty good in spots. Made for some great video/audio clips and photo opportunities. Below I have compiled a collection of clips into a video I call “Fred Meijer Flat River Trail – Sights and Sounds of Nature” Below the video is a collection of images from the day. Feel free to scroll through those! I had a great outing, and would highly recommend the Fred Meijer Flat River trail to anyone who enjoys recreational activities. There are many benches and picnic tables along the way to sit on too.
