European Garden Spider vs Green Lacewing (VIDEO)

Above are a couple of images, the left one is a thumbnail image from the video itself, and the right image is a higher resolution image I snapped of the spider. You can even see the web reflecting in that shot. Below is a video I captured of a European Garden Spider in a web near the light at the entrance of the apartment’s laundry facility. The blue hue is front the flashlight I used to enhance the light so I could get a clearer shot, as I did not have my tripod with me at the time. I had noticed several spiders around the light, so I decided to film this one, and I’m glad it’s the one I chose. I just got ready to press the record button when a Green Lacewing flew into the web. Snowing in April (VIDEO + PHOTOS)

Pictured left is a car driving in some heavy snow in Greenville, MI on April 10, 2012. Now you might be wondering, how it could be snowing in April after nearly reaching 90 degrees during a string of days in March with highs that reached well into the 80s. A simplistic answer would be “Well, this is Michigan. Wait 10 minutes and it will change.” But the more specific and correct answer lies within the current weather pattern. A decent low pressure system has been sort of cut off over eastern Canada, we have been on the south and west side of this feature, and low pressures rotate counter clockwise. So being on the backside of a low, usually brings down cold air from Canada, and that’s what has been occurring over the course of the last few days.
